Turning Loss Into Purpose, Advocacy, and Action
The Jovian Motley Foundation was created in honor of Correctional Officer Jovian Motley, who served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The Foundation exists to advocate for safer working conditions, stronger accountability, and lasting change for correctional officers and their families.
Our Mission
The mission of The Jovian Motley Foundation is to honor the life and legacy of Officer Jovian Motley by raising awareness of safety concerns facing Correctional Officers and advocating for meaningful change. We are committed to supporting and uplifting underserved communities through outreach, service, and acts of compassion that reflect Jovian’s heart for helping others.
Correctional officers face some of the most dangerous working conditions in public service — often without adequate protections, transparency, or accountability when things go wrong.
The Jovian Motley Foundation exists to ensure that no family is left without answers, no officer is left without advocacy, and no loss is ever treated as acceptable or inevitable. We strive to be a beacon of hope for our community through action, accountability, and service.
Honoring Jovian’s Life of Service
To those who knew him, Jovian Motley was intelligent, loving, and deeply committed to serving with integrity. He was a son, a protector, and a public servant who believed that showing up mattered—even when the work was hard.
His life was tragically cut short in the line of duty, and his passing raised urgent questions that demand truth, accountability, and meaningful change.

Officer Safety & Training Awareness
Raising awareness around safer protocols, proper equipment, and working conditions that save lives.
Support for Families
Standing with families affected by line-of-duty loss, as well as providing community resources & aid for underserved communities.
Education & Public Awareness
Informing communities about the realities correctional officers face and why reform matters.
